House Votes to Dismantle ObamaCare

Bill to restore health care freedom heading to president’s desk

Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN) and Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee Chairman Phil Roe (R-TN) today released the following statements after the House passed the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act (H.R. 3762), a bill to dismantle ObamaCare, protect taxpayer dollars, and rein in the nation’s deficits and debt.

“The American people expect Washington to focus on their priorities,” Chairman Kline said, “and once again we’ve shown our determination to do just that. We have taken an important step to rein in our nation’s deficits and debt, protect life, and dismantle a health care law wreaking havoc on families, schools, and small businesses. It’s now up to the president to decide whether he will stand by a flawed law or stand by the American people who want us to move in a better direction. I urge the president to do what’s right and sign the bill.”

“As someone who spent three decades caring for patients, I’ve been concerned about the president’s health care law since it was forced through a Democrat-led Congress six years ago,” Rep. Roe said. “Since then, the law has done irreparable harm to hardworking families all over the country, increasing costs and lowering the quality of health care. I’m glad the House is keeping their promise to the American people by sending these important provisions to the president’s desk.”
